We are mindful of the need to make our pages accessible to everyone, and we describe below some of the steps we have taken to ensure that this is the case. Almost all of the publicly accessed pages on the Haycock Hotel website will conform to at least the World Wide Web Consortium's (W3C) Single A standard excluding all forms on the site. There may still remain some pages in the Haycock Hotel web site that for technical reasons we cannot make conform to W3C standard, however we will be working in the future to overcome this, and make all our pages conform.
Current Standards Compliance
The majority of pages on this site comply with all Priority 1 guidelines of the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines and Bobby.
All the pages in this web site have been written to comply with the W3C XHTML 1.0 Strict Standard - the most demanding, and so almost all of our pages should be accessible using text only browsers or other reading devices. All the style sheets used to control layout and presentation of the pages on this site validate to the W3C CSS standard.
At the lower left of every page, is a "Text Only" link. Clicking on this link will present a text-only version of the page using high visibility text sizes and background colours.
Text SizeIf you need to change the size of the text on the page, most internet browsers will allow users to change the font size. However when changing your browser settings, keep this information in mind:
Bigger text means less information on the screen at any one time and more scrolling. You may need to click on the 'Refresh' or 'Reload' button for changes to take effect. We give you the following tips on how to change the text size settings of the following commonly used browsers:
Microsoft Internet Explorer 5 and 6Links have TITLE attributes that describe the link in greater detail, even when the text of the link already fully describes the target.
ImagesAll content images will include descriptive ALT attributes. Purely decorative graphics will have an empty ALT attribute.
LayoutThis site uses cascading style sheets to control layout and appearance. Public areas of this site use only relative font sizes, compatible with the user-specified 'text size' option in visual browsers. If your browser does not support stylesheets the content of each page is still readable.
